LG VX1000 Migo Review - A Review of the LG VX1000 Migo Cellular Phone
March 9, 2009There’s only one cellular phone on the market today that parents should feel comfortable giving their kids: the LG VX1000 (Migo). Compact and green, this mobile phone is perfect for parents who want to stay connected to their children, even when they’re not physically around. Kids of all ages love the bright green color and blue backlit LCD screen, and parents love that there are only four dedicated speed dial buttons (which prevents unwanted calling and surprise phone bills).
To set the cell phone up, parents program up to four phone numbers for the four dedicated keys. For safety, the Migo comes with a dedicated emergency key. Ultra lightweight (less than two and half ounces), this phone has an internal antenna and GPS, enabling parents to always know exactly where the user is at all times.
The simplified keypad and user friendly interface makes the LG Migo a breeze to use, even for children who don’t have much experience with cell phones or technology yet. Volume can be controlled by keys found on the side of the phone, and the speakerphone is high quality and loud.
Besides the many practical uses of the Migo, there are also some fun functions as well. While the phone doesn’t have the bells and whistles like camera, internet access or portable music player found on most cell phones these days, it does have 10 different ringtones for kids to choose from. Fun and unique, kids will enjoy the 32 chord polyphonic ringtones that can be programmed to individual phone book entries.
The LG VX1000 (Migo) has a hook that can be attached to a wristlet or a carabiner, allowing kids to carry the phone by hand or by backpack. The phone has a fantastic battery life that rivals just about every cell phone on the market, meaning that kids can talk for three hours straight before it needs to be recharged.
